Kinect: Stay Connected

Launched Kinect, a relationship management app allowing users to create contacts, organize them into lists, set custom reminder intervals, and recieve automated email notifications to remind users to stay in touch with their friends and loved ones. Built in Typescript utilizing Claude Code.

Pricing Data Solutions App

Built a Python/Streamlit app to streamline an inefficient pricing data pipeline for a small business, transforming the firm’s ability to generate quotes, proposals, and invoices, cutting process time by 80%. Published generic version of app to protect company IP.

Analyzing Capital Flows Across Currency Regimes App

Contracted with a Yale economist to analyze capital flows across European currency regimes for a project evaluating whether Iceland should adopt the Euro. Integrated advanced econometric techniques and built a Python/Streamlit app to present results, utilizing Claude Code.

Examining the Effects of Health Expenditure on Chronic Health Outcomes

Conducted research on global health expenditure efficiency for economics Senior Capstone at American University, earning funding to present at a conference after faculty nomination. Utilized a panel linear model to compare the effects of private and public health expenditure on chronic health outcomes in 23 developed countries around the world.

Tank Talk: Analyzing Rhetoric of Shark Tank Entrepreneurs

Researched the predictability of Shark Tank investment decisions based on entrepreneurs’ pitch rhetoric. Compared Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), and Transformer architectures, achieving classification rates of around 86 percent from GRU and LSTM models. Project completed for Applied Natural Language Processing (DATA-441) class at American University.

Global Health Data Analysis App

Collaborated with a team of graduate Data Science students to build an R/Shiny app allowing users to analyze global health data. Project completed for Data Science (DATA-413) class at American University.

National Tax Literacy Poll: Assessing Taxpayer Knowledge and Perceptions of the US Tax System

Lead survey data analytics, performing cross-tabulation analysis and data visualization for research cited in the IRA National Taxpayer Advocate’s 2024 Report to Congress.

Placing Harris and Trump Tax Plans in Historical Context

Ivestigated the size (measured as estimated revenue raised as a pecentage of GDP) of the Presidential candidates’ tax plans relative to historical tax changes since 1940. Research cited in the Wall Street Journal.

How Do Import Tariffs Affect Exports?

Wrote an original primer alongside a top trade economist explaining the oft-overlooked relationship between import tariffs and exports, revealing how import tariffs can lead to inefficient resource allocation, higher production costs, inflated currency values, and retaliatory tariffs, all of which place a burden on exports. Cited in Congressional testimony and multiple publications.

Non-profit Market Research App

This app was created to assist a social enterprise with market research needs. The simple dashboard was created with the Shiny package in R, allowing users to filter nonprofit data in order to create mailing lists and identify target customers.
